Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) has released a new notification for apprenticeships. Both ITI pass and 10th pass students can apply. This is the 47th batch for the year 2025. Vacancy Details
There are separate vacancies for ITI and non-ITI candidates:
- ITI Trades: 300 posts
- Non-ITI (10th/8th Pass): 74 posts
ITI Apprenticeship
Vacancies in the following trades for ITI pass candidates:
- Fitter: 107 posts
- Carpenter: 3 posts
- Painter General: 7 posts
- Machinist: 67 posts
- Welder (Gas & Electric): 45 posts
- Electrician: 71 posts
Non-ITI Apprenticeship
10th pass is required for non-ITI candidates. For Welder, even 8th pass students can apply.
- Fitter: 30 posts
- Carpenter: No posts
- Painter General: No posts
- Machinist: 15 posts
- Welder (Gas & Electric): 11 posts
- Electrician: 18 posts
Note: If you are 10th pass and have not done ITI, then after completing this apprenticeship, your certificate will be considered equivalent to ITI.
Eligibility
- Non-ITI: 10th pass with at least 50% marks.
- ITI: 10th pass with at least 50% marks and ITI certificate in the relevant trade.
Important: Your ITI result must be declared before 5 July 2025 to be eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- Non-ITI: 15 to 22 years
- ITI: 15 to 24 years (For Welder and Carpenter: 15 to 22 years)
Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PwD – 10 years
Selection Process
The selection will be based on merit. There will be no written exam.
- For Non-ITI: Based on 10th marks.
- For ITI: Based on 10th marks only. ITI marks will not be considered.
Application Fee
- General, OBC, EWS: ₹100
- SC, ST, PwD, Female: No fee
Other Important Information
- You can apply for only one trade – either ITI or Non-ITI.
- Non-ITI apprenticeship will be for 2 years or 15 months.
- ITI apprenticeship will be for 1 year.
- Upload your photo and signature while filling the form.
- Category certificate should be issued after 1 January 2025.
- Keep 8 copies of your photo ready.
Apprenticeship Benefits
- 20% quota in Group D recruitment.
- Relaxation in Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
- One-third of your apprenticeship marks will be added to the CBT exam.
- After ITI, the NAC certificate will be considered equal to one year of experience. This helps in many government jobs.
